Return to "Changing the Game" Pro Softball Player INDOOR Clinics

We are excited to have our 2nd Pro Softball Clinic weekend this year. Just this past April, we had the pleasure of bringing back Odicci Alexander and Janae Jefferson and this time they are bringing along some of their friends. This September's clinic will include some of the top players in the game. We will have Team USA and AU (Athletes Unlimited ) players Odicci Alexander and Dejah Mulipola. We will also have Team USA $ Texas Smoke player, Janae Jefferson in addition to former Florida Gator and Texas Smoke player Charla Echols. Last but definitely , not least. We will have one of the top pitchers in Pro Fastpitch Softball, former Gamecock and current OKC Sparks pitcher, Donnie Gobourne.

This pre-event experience  is on Friday, September 23rd from 6:30pm - 8pm will include a Q & A (Question and Answer) session which will include sandwiches, beverages, snacks and pastries.

Location: La Quinta 265 NJ-3 E, Clifton, NJ 07014 in the Montclair Room

Time: 6:30pm - 8pm

What do I need to bring - Please have any questions prepared that you would like to ask the pro players

Photo and Autograph packages will be available for purchase prior to the event

Clinic Session
is on Saturday, September 23rd from 1:30pm - 4pm

Location: PS2 Athletics in Wayne, NJ

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: UNFORTUNATELY, PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE FIELD/PARKING LOT DURING THE SESSIONS. WE WILL BE IN A FACILITY THAT WILL HAVE A WAITING AREA FOR PARENTS TO SIT.

INDOOR FACILITY LOCATION: PS2 Athletics Wayne, NJ

What is provided by us: Field, water, balls, fun and a great experience

What does my child need to bring: Glove, bat and your own personal catcher's equipment if you are a catcher.

What should my child wear: come dressed to play softball (rep your club/travel team softball uniform, softball pants, t-shirts, sneakers or turf cleats (NO METAL CLEATS)

Clinic Schedule Dates and Times PARTICIPANT SHOULD CHOOSE ONE SESSION ON ONE EITHER DAY (THE FEE ONLY INCLUDES ONE SESSION) PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE CLINIC INSTRUCTION AREA.

The sessions will include pitching, catching, hitting/slap hitting, fielding and baserunning, mental aspects of the game and much more. The ages are 8-18 however the clinic will be set up in stations and players will group according to their age and travel with that group to their stations.

Session 1 & 2: September 23, 2023 9:30am - 12pm and 1:30pm - 4pm AGES 8yr-18yr
Fee: $225 per participant/per session ( THIS FEE INCLUDES ONE SESSION ONLY) NON-REFUNDABLE

Odicci Alexander, JMU's (James Madison University) cinderella, stunned the softball world in 2021 and became a household name when she lead the the first ever unranked team in the Women's College World Series history to advance to the quarter finals. Odicci continued to shock us with her opening win against the number 1 seeded Oklahoma Sooners, followed up by another win against Oklahoma State. Odicci pitched every game in the WCWS for the JMU Dukes and although they didn't end up in the championship, Odicci earned her way to stardom after her performance on the game's greatest stage. She was the 2021 NCAA Pitcher of the Year, 2021 D1 Softball Woman of the Year, USSSA Pride 2021,2022 Team USA Pan American, 2022 Canada Cup Champion and 2022/2023 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Playing for the Natasha Watley Foundation.Currently playing in Athletes Unlimited. 


Janae Jefferson  2023 Women's Pro Fastpitch player of the Year and  she was a leader on her Texas Longhorns team, leading them to the WCWS in 2022. Janae sets the record for Texas and the Big 12 Conference with 362 career hits, which are currently tied for seventh in NCAA Division 1 history. She is one of 13 athletes selected in the 2022 Athletes Unlimited Softball College Draft, 2022 World Games Gold Medalist, 2022 Team USA World Games, 2019 & 2021 First Team All Big 12 Conference and 2021 Top 25 finalist for USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year and a 2022/2023 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Playing for the Natasha Watley Foundation. Janae currently plays for the Texas Smoke.

  • University of Texas at Austin softball legend Janae Jefferson is now the face of the Texas Smoke of the Women's Professional League. Jefferson ended her UT career as the school's all-time leader in hit and batting average, propelling them to the Women's College World Series finals in 2022. Jefferson was the first player signed by co-owner and former Major League Baseball player Brandon Phillips. Jefferson is an inspiration for aspiring softball stars

Dejah Mulipola - Dejah Monique Mulipola is a Polynesian American, former collegiate All-American softball catcher. She played college softball at Arizona from 2017 to 2021 where she was twice named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American. OLYMPIC EXPERIENCE 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE 2022 World Games Gold Medalist – Hit .615 (8-for-13) with a double, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored 2017 WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship Gold Medalist – Hit .500 (8-16) with six runs, four RBI and a home run CAREER HIGHLIGHTS 2022 Pan American Championship gold medalist – Hit .389 (7-18) with one HR, eight RBI and 12 runs scores Member of 2022 Japan All-Star Series Roster 2019 Japan Cup Gold Medalist – Hit .333 (2-for-6) with 1 double and 2 RBI 2019 Pan American Games Gold Medalist – Hit .600 (3-for-5) with 2 doubles and 1 run scored 2018 USA Softball International Cup Bronze Medalist – Hit .333 (1-for-3) with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored World Cup of Softball XII participant – Hit .364 (4-11) with a home run and four RBI


Charla Echols - With the 14th pick in the 2023 WPF Draft, The Texas Smoke have selected Charla Echols from the University of Florida.
The Texas Smoke is thrilled to announce the official signing of draftee, Charla Echols. Hailing from Newnan, Georgia, Charla wrapped up her collegiate career down south in ‘Gator Nation’ at the University of Florida, where she was awarded both the 2022 and 2023 USA Softball Player of the Year Top 50 “Watch List,” the 2022 Team USA Member (World Games Gold Medal), and the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team 🏆
